IEEE Mangalore Subsection (MSS) SAC organized a series of 14 Webinars from 26th February to 13th June 2020. The topics included the general ones such as “Benefits of joining IEEE Signal Processing Society” and “Prepare for Success”, which were useful to all levels of membership, as well as more specific topics such as “Tiny-pan Coin-Weighing Problem” and “Introduction and Application of IOT – Where to Start?”. These webinars were conducted by renowned speakers such as Dr. K.V.S. Hari, Vice President for IEEE Signal Processing Society and Prof. Wing-Kai Hon from Taiwan. The Subsection also organized 6 Distinguished Lecture series on various topics such as “Recent Advances in Nanophotonics” and “Solar Energy Applications for India”. All these webinars were well circulated among all students through e-Notices.

Other activities were the outreach program for NITK Kannada Medium School by NITK, Seminar Week by NITTE, outreach activity to Dakshina Kannada Jilla Panchayath Model Higher Primary School by SJCE Mangalore, 8-hour hackathon by SMVITM Bantakal and National Conference on Engineering Developments by PESITM Shivamogga. Similarly, many invited talks, SDPs and technical activities were conducted even during the pandemic period through online meeting.
