IEEE WIE Bangladesh Section and IEEE PES Women in Power organized 6 Webinars from June to August 2020. The Webinars were mentored and led by Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair for IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE PES Women in Power R10 Representative.

International WIE Day Celebration

The webinar was attended by 47 speakers and participants from 5 countries (Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Australia) on the 23rd of June, 2020.

WIE Tech Meetup Online Webinar Series

The number of speakers and participants were 87 (India and Bangladesh), 60 (Bangladesh and India), 30 (Bangladesh, India and Australia) and 31 (Bangladesh) for the first (11th July), second (17th July), third (24th July) and fourth (31st July) Webinar of the series, respectively.

Embracing the Benefits of IEEE Membership

The Webinar was attended by over 40 participants from both industry and academia on 5th August 2020.

Women in Engineering Tech Summit 2020

IEEE WIE Bangladesh Section, IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE PES Women in Power arranged the “Women in Engineering Tech Summit 2020” as a co-located event during the International COVID Congress 2020 (ICC2020) on 9th August 2020.

The theme of the summit was “Exploring Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions for WIE during COVID-19” and had speakers from both industry and academia. Dr. Bozenna Pasik-Duncan and Dr. Ruomei Li were the keynote speakers while Dr. Paulina Y Chan, Dr. Dewi Yanti Liliana, Dr. Maheshi Dissanayake, Soumaya Jaber, Dr. Aarti Karande, Pramiti Alam, Shruti Jain and Sudeshna Choudhury were the panelists. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, General Chair for ICC2020 and Chair for IEEE Bangladesh Section was the advisor of the event. Nafisa Tasnim, Vice-Chair and Irtiza Haque, Treasurer for IEEE WIE Bangladesh moderated the session. 110 speakers and participants from 9 countries (USA, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) attended the summit.
