2022 IEEE Global Conference on Computing, Power and Communication Technologies (GlobConPT 2022)

The 2022 IEEE Global Conference on Computing, Power and Communication Technologies (GlobConPT 2022) was held on 23rd to 25th September 2022 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, India, with 100% financial sponsorship by IEEE Industry Applications Society, USA. GlobConPT 2022 is a non-profit conference. It provides an opportunity for practicing engineers, academicians, and researchers to meet in a forum to discuss various issues and their future direction in Electrical, Computer & Electronics Engineering and Technologies. The conference aims to put together experts from the relevant areas to disseminate their knowledge and experience for the relevant future research scope. IEEE Industry Application Society USA financially sponsors the conference. There are 10 tracks in the conference covering almost all areas of Electronics, Computer & Electrical Engineering.

In the Silver Oak Hall, a gala inaugural ceremony of GlobConPT 2022 began with auspicious lamp lighting by the distinguished guests and spiritual Saraswati Vandana. Then the conference chair felicitates the guest of honor present on the dais, Dr. Arun Kumar Tripathi (Advisor to Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India), Prof. Sri Niwas Singh Director (Director, Atal Bihari Vajpayee – Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior, India), Prof. Bhim Singh (SERB National Science Chair & Emeritus Professor, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi New Delhi, India), Prof. Saad Mekhilef (Distinguished Professor at the School of Science, Computing and Engineering Technologies, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia), Prof. Akshay Rathore (Professor, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore and Awards Chair at the IEEE Industry Applications Society USA). Dr. Abdulla Rasheed Ahmed (Minister of State for Education, Maldives), Prof. Fushuan Wen (IEEE Fellow, Zhejiang University, China), and Prof. Andre Obler (VP, IEEE Computer Society) joined in online mode.  Also, 37 special invitees, the Vice-Chancellors from universities all over India, were present as special invitees.

Dr. Arun Kumar Tripathi addressed the audience about the Government’s plan on renewable energy and electric vehicles. He discussed how this conference would play a significant role in research and development on renewable energy and electric vehicle in India. Prof. Sri Niwas Singh discussed the importance of the new generation of power electronics in his inaugural talk.  In his inaugural speech, Prof. Bhim Singh discussed on the future of new generation DC motors for the electric vehicle. Prof. Akshay Rathore discussed the new challenges of electric motors for new generation electric vehicles in his speech. Prof Fushuan Wen and Prof. Andre Obelor addressed their inaugural speech through online mode. The conference started with an award ceremony of two special categories: (1) Lifetime Achievement Award and (2) Elite Academician Award.

The inaugural ceremony ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ankush Ghosh, Technical Chair of the conference. The first keynote lecture was delivered by Prof. Saad Mekhilef with a talk titled “The role of power electronics in the decarbonization of our energy supply”. In the second keynote lecture, Prof. Akshay Rathore discussed the “Scenario of Battery and Hydrogen Electric Vehicles in India”. A keynote session followed lunch. Four parallel technical sessions started in the four halls Jakandra-1, Jakandra-2, Maple, and Mehagini. The MatLab workshop started at Silver Oak Hall. 72 papers were presented with the participation of more than 200 authors. 2 session chairs were present in every session. A good number of the audience were present in every session.

Followed by a technical session was a keynote speech started by Prof. Vincenzo Piuri (Professor, University of Milan; IEEE Region 8 Director-Elect 2021-22) with a talk titled Ambient Intelligence delivered through virtual mode. Day-I ended with thanks from Dr. Saravanan, the Conference Secretary. The second day began with a keynote speech titled “Develop a New Generation of Battery Management Systems for the Future Solid-State Lithium-ion Batteries” by Prof. Chris Chunting Mi (Distinguished Professor & Chair, Electrical & Computer Engineering, San Diego State University, USA). This was followed by concurrent paper presentation panels SD1 to SD5 in 5 technical sessions. After completing these 5 sessions, another 5 technical sessions SD6 to SD10, commenced. On the second day, 76 papers were presented with the participation of more than 220 authors. The second day ended with a keynote speech titled “Computational Behaviour Analysis for User-centred Smart Cyber-Physical Systems” by Prof Liming Luke Chen (Research Director for the School of Computing, Ulster University, England).

The third day started with a keynote speech titled “Modern Power system fault diagnosis with Analytical Models and Optimization-based Methods” by Prof. Fushuan Wen, followed by 5 parallel technical sessions TD1 to TD5 and TD6 to TD10 with 70 papers as total. The keynote sessions were attended by a large number of students and researchers.  GlobConPT 2022 has emerged as a premier conference to bring researchers, scientists, and industry professionals to discuss issues and their future direction in Electrical, Computer & Electronics Engineering and Technologies. This year, the conference was joined by many researchers, students, and industry professionals from as many as 20 countries. GlobConPT 2022 concluded with a vote of thanks by the conference chair.
