WEAVE – International Women in Engineering Day Celebration

IEEE BUP WIE Affinity Group organized this year’s signature event, WEAVE as part of celebrating the ‘International Women in Engineering Day’. The purpose of WEAVE was to provide a platform for individuals to showcase their talents through some contests which reflected qualities in critical thinking, designing and creative writing. Three contests which started from 16th June 2020 included problem-solving, digital artwork and write-up contests. A total of 67 submissions were received from 21 different institutes all over the country. The event even received participants from Nepal, Australia and USA who registered to join the event.
A career session was conducted by Achia Khaleda Nila (CEO, Women in Digital) on 23rd June and another session with Dr. Hasanuzzaman Sagor (Assistant Professor, Queen Mary University) was held on 30th June to discuss technical skills and research workflows. In each session, there were almost 170 participants present. In the final part of the program, the results of the contests were announced.
