Webinar on Interdisciplinary Projects in Assistive Technology Engineering

IEEE Madras Section organized a Webinar on “Interdisciplinary Projects in Assistive Technology Engineering” on 19th May 2020 from 8.00pm to 9.00pm. The speaker was Dr. S.K. Ramesh, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, California State University, Northridge, USA. Dr. Venkatesh Kumar, Chair of Professional Activities, hosted the event while Dr. N Kumarappan, Chair for IEEE Madras Section, introduced the guest. The webinar focused on interdisciplinary projects in assistive technology engineering and improving the functional capabilities. The speaker also explained about IEEE strategic plan for 2020-2025, IEEE educational programs and resources, TRY Engineering, and EPICS in IEEE. Around 250 participants participated in the Webinar. Dr. N Kumarappan delivered the vote of thanks.

Webinar on AI/ML Advancements and Potential Applications

IEEE Madras Section organized a Webinar on “AI/ML Advancements and Potential Applications” on 25th May 2020 from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. The speaker was Mr. Mukund Kannan, Head of Artificial Intelligence at Tech Mahindra, Bangalore. Dr. Venkatesh Kumar hosted the event while Dr. N Kumarappan, Chair for IEEE Madras Section introduced the guest. The webinar focused on ML and its applications including AI-based short term load forecasting solar panel maintenance and wind power generation prediction. Around 160 participants participated in the Webinar. Dr. N Kumarappan delivered the vote of thanks.

Webinar on Post Covid19 – future of Industries

IEEE Madras Section organized a Webinar on “Post Covid19 – Future of Industries” on 14th June 2020 from 9.30am to 10.30pm. The speaker was Ezhilmaran Arumugam, Director & CEO for Axis Global Automation & AGIIT India & UAE. Dr. Venkatesh Kumar, Chair of Professional Activities hosted the event while Dr. N Kumarappan, Chair for IEEE Madras Section introduced the guest. The speaker elaborated about consumer insight on the factory of the future, robotics – automation and augmented reality scenarios. 52 participants attended the event. Dr. N Kumarappan delivered the vote of thanks.

Webinar on IEEE Publications – Enhancing one’s Career

IEEE Professionals Activities wing of IEEE Madras Section collaborated with IEEE Client Services Team at the IEEE India Operations Center to organize a session on “IEEE Publications – Enhancing One’s Career” on 25th June 2020. Around 75 members attended the session. Dr. M Venkatesh Kumar coordinated the session. Dr. Pattanashetti, Senior IEEE Client Services Manager gave insights into the various features and functionalities in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The session also highlighted on how the Digital Library can be leveraged to publish papers and to be recognized globally. Dr. N Kumarappan, Chair for IEEE Madras Section provided the concluding remarks.

Webinar on Software Development Trends – History and Future Ahead

IEEE Madras Section organized a Webinar on “Software Development – History and Future Ahead” on 27th June 2020. Dr. N Kumarappan, Chair for IEEE Madras Section introduced the guest. Mr Manikandan Kannappan, Lead Program-Project Manager, Bank of New York Mellon Technologies elaborated on the topics of Software Engineering. The webinar was attended and benefitted by around 51 members from the Section. Mr.M Venkatesh Kumar, Chair for Professional Activities coordinated the event.
