2021 R10 YP Outstanding Volunteer in Industry
Christian Enoval is an IEEE Senior Member and became an active IEEE volunteer in 2016, where he participated in different activities of his local chapter. With his dedication as a young engineer, he founded the IEEE Young Professionals Philippines Affinity Group in 2018 and was then elected as its Chair. Because of his leadership abilities, he was elected as the Public Relations Officer and Society Committee Chair of IEEE Republic of Philippines Section in 2019, while continuing to serve as YP chair. Since then, he has spearheaded many impactful and valuable activities for the IEEE young members.
As enabling activity to foster interaction between young professionals and student members and for enhancing student to young professional transitions, Christian organized the first ever Student Transition and Elevation Partnership (STEP) in 2019 in partnership with IEEE Mapua University Student Branch. The event aimed to provide a dynamic program for facilitating the transition from IEEE Student Members to Young Professionals by introducing the opportunities and benefits of IEEE membership. Despite the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, he led the conduct of the 2nd and 3rd STEP virtually, which makes it an annual activity of the OU.
Another major event that Christian led was the Virtual Kapihan (Coffee Break) 2020 which gathered all IEEE members from both industry and academia under IEEE Philippines Section for meetup and networking as part of IEEE Day Celebration and was graced by then Director-Elect Deepak Mathur. As part of membership development, he initiated the conduct of the first ever IEEE Senior Membership Elevation Workshop in 2021 under the IEEE Republic of Philippines.
Moreover, his volunteering has also reached the regional level when he was invited as guest speaker during the IEEE Young Professionals Meet 2020 organized by IEEE YP Bangladesh, SYWL Virtual Congress 2020 (a flagship activity of IEEE Region 10) under the YP track and during the IEEE Sparklers Summit 2021 organized by R10 YP. He also served as a distinguished instructor during the Career and Leadership Aid Program (CLAP) 2021 organized by IEEE R10 YP. Besides these, Christian Enoval was appointed as the Training and Webinar Coordinator of IEEE R10 Student Activities Committee (SAC) in 2021. He spearheaded different activities beneficial to student members of the IEEE R10 such as the Student Branch Chairs and Advisers Summit 2021, SAC Chairs and Section Student Representatives’ Meetup 2021, and Student Membership Development Summit 2021.
In 2019, he received the Outstanding Volunteer Award from IEEE Republic of Philippines for his valued service and outstanding contribution to IEEE Young Professionals and Section activities. Then in 2021, he received the Outstanding Volunteer Award in Industry from IEEE R10 Young Professionals for his exemplary volunteering involvements as a young professional.
Christian Enoval is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 2011 and 2015 respectively and currently a candidate for Ph.D. in Technology Management at the Technological University of the Philippines. He is currently working as Service Manager at Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (Singtel Philippines, Inc.) handling network concerns of its global enterprise customers. He is also an Associate Professorial Lecturer under the Electronics Engineering Department of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines since 2015.
