IEEE Delhi Section Award Ceremony’21
IEEE Delhi Section SAC organized the IEEE Delhi Section Award Ceremony’21 on 4th July 2021. Attended by over 100 enthusiastic volunteers from the Section, the felicitation ceremony was hosted virtually by the IEEE Delhi Technological University Student Branch. The event was presided over by Prof. Rachana Garg, IEEE Delhi Section and SAC Chair, and the occasion was graced by the auspicious presence of the Chief Guest Dr. Y. Vijaylata Reddy, ViceChair SAC, IEEE India Council. The tireless efforts of student volunteers were acknowledged by presenting them with awards in numerous categories namely Dr. JK Pal Memorial Award, Outstanding Student Volunteer Award, Outstanding WIE Student Volunteer Award, etc. Exemplary Student Branch Award and Emerging Student Branch Award were given to four student branches for their continued diligence towards the growth and development of IEEE. Honorary SAC and WIE Recognition was accorded to the Immediate Past Chair of IEEE Delhi Section SAC and WIE AG for their exceptional spirit of volunteerism.
Student Branch Officers Meetup’21
IEEE Delhi Section SAC convened the Student Branch Officers Meetup’21 in virtual mode on 25th July 2021. The event was ennobled by Dr. Rachana Garg, the Chair of IEEE Delhi Section and Dr. Sneha Kabra, the Treasurer of IEEE Delhi Section and attended by around 80 representatives from more than 38 Student Branches. The meet was held to enhance awareness about SB ExCom duties, membership benefits and financial aid available to the student branches. The Student Branch Counselors and Chairs also laid down their ideas, respective plans of action for the upcoming tenure, and the difficulties they faced in the previous year.
IEEE Drive’21 was a Membership Drive initiated by the IEEE YMCA SB with the assistance of the IEEE Delhi Section and inaugurated by the esteemed IEEE Region 10 Director, Mr. Deepak Mathur. As part of this drive, IEEE Delhi Section SAC took on an innovative endeavor to organize a virtual hands-on workshop named “Robotronics”. Mr. B. Bhargav Rami Reddy, the Cofounder and Director at Entecres Labs Pvt. Ltd. was the resource person for this workshop held on 7th August 2021. The more than 60 participants residing throughout North India were provided with hardware kits for the real-time construction of the “light following robot”. Dr. Rashmi Agarwal, Branch Counselor of IEEE YMCA SB brought the intriguing session to an end by giving a vote of thanks.
Cyber Innovations in Defense Webinar was conducted on 13th August 2021, focusing on the vitality of cyber technology and warfare in the Indian Defense Sector. Enthusiastically attended by over 150 students across India, the event proved to be immensely engaging for the participants. The speakers Maj. General Prabdeep Singh Behl and Col. Sanjeev Relia shared their experience about serving in the Indian Armed Forces and discussed how cyber innovations are used to curb cyberwarfare. The speakers inspired the participants to explore the opportunities in Cyber Technology and contribute to national security by being a part of India’s defense structure.
