On 11 October 2023 at The Cube, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, three concurrent programs attracted 64 attendees for the IEEE Day Celebration organized by WIE Malaysia Section Affinity Group, IEEE WIE Universiti Malaya (MY UM) Student Branch and IEEE MY Power and Energy Society.. Prof Celia Shahnaz, WIE Global Chair, shared invaluable insights on personal and professional development, emphasizing available resources for skill enhancement within the WIE community. Following this, a competition was held focusing on capability building, skills development, and climate change, with the top 3 winners celebrated. The day concluded with a membership drive led by IEEE and IEE WIE UM Student Branch.
Continuing the momentum on 11 October 2023, the “Science is Fun!” activity unfolded at Buku Jalan Chow Kit, a non-profit school for displaced children, engaging 38 students. Datin Wahidah facilitated the delivery of donations from WIE MY members, enhancing the event’s impact. The IEEE Day celebrations were a resounding success, fostering knowledge exchange, skill development, and community outreach.
Between the 10th to 11th of October 2023, 4 events have been completed in conjunction with IEEE Day by WIE Malaysia Section Affinity Group, IEEE WIE Universiti Malaya (MY UM) Student Branch and IEEE MY Power and Energy Society. 3 simultaneous programs were conducted on the 10th of October 2023 in The Cube, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur with 64 attendees. Afterward, a competition chaired and led by Prof Fatimah on capability building, skills development, and climate change was held, with the top 3 winners selected. A membership drive was held at the end led by IEEE and IEE WIE UM Student Branch.
