On October 3, 2023, the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) student chapter in Kerala orchestrated the I3 event at Swayam Prabha Hall, Avionics, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), as part of the annual IEEE Day celebration. Themed ‘Remote Sensing Utilization Across Various Fields,’ the event hosted a diverse array of sessions, including keynote speeches, an idea interaction session, and a panel discussion.
Ms. Punya, IEEE GRSS student chapter chair, set the stage with an introductory talk, followed by Dr. Deepak Mishra, Chair of IEEE GRSS Kerala Section. Dr. Kuruvila Joseph, Registrar and Dean of IIST, inaugurated the event, with closing remarks by Dr. B S Manoj, IEEE Kerala Section Chair.
The Interdisciplinary Idea Interaction session brought together experts from Remote Sensing, Geoscience, Atmospheric Science, and Avionics. The panel discussion, mentored by IIST faculties, delved into remote sensing applications—from climate forecasting to integrating AI and virtual reality in data analysis.
The event concluded with mementos, prizes, and a valedictory speech by Dr. Chinmoy Saha, IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques/Antennas and Propagation Kerala Chpater Chair. The Idea Interaction session enriched participants with innovative insights and knowledge exchange.
