In an era of rapid technological evolution and growing member needs, IEEE R10 stands on the brink of a significant transformation. With the strategic realignment set for 2028, splitting Region 10 into new Regions 10 and 11, we embark on a journey to not only expand our geographic footprint but to deepen our engagement and support for our members in North Asia, South Asia, and the Pacific.
A Glimpse into Our Membership Dynamics
Our projections for the new Regions 10 and 11 reveal distinct membership profiles by grade and gender, emphasizing the need for tailored strategies to foster inclusivity and diversity. Notably, the gender disparity and the distribution of Women in Engineering (WIE), Young Professionals (YP), and Life Members (LM) across the new regions spotlight areas requiring focused initiatives and support.

Strategic Priorities for an Inclusive Future
The impending regional realignment compels us to re-evaluate and reinforce our commitment to gender diversity, professional development, and technological advancement. In new Region 10, we face the challenge of bolstering female participation and leadership within the engineering community. Conversely, new Region 11’s diverse WIE membership base offers an opportunity to further amplify women’s contributions to technology and engineering.

Our strategic planning encompasses more than membership figures; it extends to financials, governance, services, and the broad spectrum of activities that define our community. Key focus areas include enhancing membership activities, promoting technical initiatives, and forging strong industry partnerships. Strengthening inter-regional cooperation will also be paramount in leveraging our collective strengths for a greater global impact.
