The IEEE Hyderabad Section Student Activities Committee, in collaboration with the IEEE Hyderabad Section Computer Society Chapter and the Women in Engineering Affinity Group, hosted Parjanya ’21, a monsoon congress on the 24th and 25th July 2021. The congress was organized by the Anantapur and Guntur Subsections.

The IEEE Hyderabad Section Chair Mr. Sreenivas Jasti, the Section Secretary, Dr Arif Sohel, the Guntur Subsection Chair, Dr Lalitha SVNL, and the CS Chapter Chair, Dr MA Jabbar, delivered the welcoming remarks, which was followed by a series of intriguing sessions delivered by prominent speakers, Mr. Varla Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Ms. Tejaswini Pagadala, Mr. Shyam Prasad Rajashekharan and Ms. Usha Iyer on the themes “Skill-speed & scale your ideas”, “Why emotional intelligence will be a crucial skill for future students in a digitally connected world”, “Entrepreneurial journey from scratch”, and “The 3 P’s to success” respectively.

On the second day, introductory remarks were given by the IEEE Hyderabad Section Vice- Chair Dr R Bala Subramanian, Section Treasurer Mr. Bala Prasad Peddagiri, Anantapur Subsection Chair Dr Y V Siva Reddy and WIE Affinity Group Chair Dr Y Padma Sai. The second day included a blend of inspiring and motivational sessions from prominent speakers, Mr. Aravind Perumal – SVP at Temenos, and Mr. Geetananda Reddy – MD Innvectra. Mr. Sairam Vedam – CMOInnominds and Dr. KMM Rao – Chair IEEE LMAG Hyderabad have also delivered thought provoking talks on the themes, “How AI and digital is reshaping humanity, business and everything” and “Advances in health care, challenges and image processing” respectively.

IEEE Signal Processing Regional Meeting on Deep Learning and Biomedical Signals 2021 is the first edition of regional meeting, organized by IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Chapter under IEEE Vardhaman Student Branch in association with IEEE Vardhaman SB WIE, Computer Society and Education Society Chapter, from 14th to 16th June 2021. It is part of the Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC) 2021, which is being funded by IEEE Signal Processing Society and IEEE Students Technical consortium that encourages women and men in engineering disciplines to share their ideas and build up a professional network to enhance their skills.

The theme of the event “Deep Learning and Biomedical Signals” demonstrates the strength arising from working together as a community, which surely can mark a significant change within us before this year comes to an end. The track focusing on women empowerment in the domains of biomedical signals and deep learning in healthcare can help women advance in their careers and encourage IEEE members in their development goals.
