Distinguished Professor Karu Esselle, FRSN, FIEEE, FIEAust, has contributed to IEEE over 25 years in numerous roles from Society level to Student Branch level. During his leadership as the Chair of IEEE New South Wales (NSW) Section, the Section was awarded both Gold and Silver Medals. In 2019, he served as one of the five members who successfully bid to make the Parkes Radio Telescope the first ever IEEE Milestone in Australia. . .

Way back in 1971, members of IEEE over the entire Eastern and North Eastern region of India got together to form the Eastern Regional Sub-Section of IEEE in India. After the formation of the India Council, the Eastern Regional Sub-Section was given the name of Calcutta Sub-Section, under the Delhi Section of IEEE, India. The Calcutta Sub-Section was raised to the status of a full section on 28th September 1978 . . .

Ray Hua Horng is the Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Electronics in National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. She became an IEEE member in 2007, then a Senior Member in 2011 and got the Fellow position in 2015. In 2007, Prof. Horng was awarded the 2007 IEEE Region 10 Academia-Industry Partnership Award. She has been actively contributing as an IEEE volunteer from 2011, when she was elected to the executive committee of the IEEE Taipei Section Photonic Society Chapter. . .

IEEE Region 10 is the powerhouse region of IEEE with more than 140,000 members, 58 Sections, 35 Sub-sections and six Councils. TENCON conference started in 1980 in Hong Kong and since 1991 has emerged as the flagship event of IEEE Region 10. With the theme Smarter, Cleaner, Secure, & Resilient Living, the 33rd IEEE Region 10 International Conference, TENCON 2021, was successfully held from 7th to 10th December 2021. IEEE New Zealand North Section hosted it in Auckland (for the venue-based physical attendees) while others engaged the planned exciting and innovative programs virtually. . .

IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10HTC) 2021

With the theme “Reverse Innovation for Humanitarian Technology Solutions using STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, and Management”, the IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference 2021 was successfully hosted by the IEEE Bangalore Section from 30th September to 2nd October, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the conference was conducted in hybrid mode, where the inauguration ceremony was held physically while authors presented their papers in online/virtual mode. The conference is made up of a rich variety of events including keynote and invited speeches, regular and special sessions, focused discussions, and special events. Prior to the official conference opening, HTA Day Celebrations and R10 Chapter-Section Event were also held in conjunction with the conference. . .
