IEEE R10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (HTC) 2025 was held from 29 September to 1 October 2025, at Chiba University of Commerce in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The theme of this year’s conference was,
“A New Humanitarian Era with Intelligent Partners.”
A total of 230 participants registered in advance, and 207 attended in person.Among the participants, 69 came from 17 countries and regions outside Japan.
The HTC conference was first held in Region 10 in 2013 by the Sendai Section, focusing on recovery efforts following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Since then, it has been hosted in various countries across Region 10, and this year marked its second time being held in Japan.
The plenary sessions featured ten presentations, including five from IEEE representatives and five from other IEEE representatives and five from other organizations, three of which were keynote speeches.
There were 64 research presentations across 11 sessions, including one poster session and ten oral sessions. Additionally, 16 special sessions were held based on proposed initiatives.
